Treatment For Incarcerated Individuals
St. Joseph’s Essex and Franklin County Treatment
Programs for Incarcerated Individuals
The mission of the program is to provide quality education, assessments, and counseling to those who are incarcerated, directly and indirectly from issues with substance use disorder. Services are provided in both individual and group settings with a variety of clinically proven therapies.
The goal is to motivate the client in changing past thinking and behaviors into an active pursuit of new life goals. Upon their release from incarceration, individuals are assisted into continuing addiction treatment at the appropriate level of care.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs are available for. Utilizing a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) the incarcerated individuals begin to recognize the extent of their substance abuse and the resulting negative effects in many life areas. These services are delivered in weekly group sessions and individual sessions within Franklin and Essex County Jails.
“This place helped me immensely. The staff and environment was overall one of caring and people who want to genuinely help. Unlike most places, there are counselors to talk to if you need to at anytime. Some people might not realize how rare that is. This is a rehab, not a place for a vacation. They give you an individualized program and the opportunity to take the time to work on yourself. Every rehab will have a certain amount of "drama" because there are a bunch of people with addictions living together trying to learn to be clean and sober. The food was good, and we had time outside everyday. The rules are strict but fair, and they are there to benefit you in the long run.”
